Abstract 3D-knits are typically produced on flat knitting or special circular machines in a time-consuming process. The utilisation of sewing-like pattern opens up the potential 10–50 times faster production common large as compared to conventional machines. Since not designed for this technology, limitations and stability process conditions have been rarely studied. To further proof feasibility increase technological maturity, agile product development is conducted. As concept product, sports bra with customised cups developed demonstrated, which knitted single step approx. 5 min using machine. utilised build knowledge, develop methodology design defined descriptive terminology. In order accelerate digitize process, an algorithm implemented convert CAD-data into machine readable structures. paper presents basics 3D-Knit one Furthermore, knowledge built from sequence steps derived. 3D-knitted presented technology. Further, first digitalising given. results open application possibilities sportswear, upholstery aerospace increased productivity hence cost reduction.
